a nuisance

The latest nuisance for me is sodium hydroxide.

I bought it at a drugstore a long time ago to make some olive oil soap. I used to make it by myself, but recently I haven't made it at all. I didn't think that I would make it again in the future, so, I decided to throw away tools which are the sodium hydroxide, the pot, the ladle, and so on. I then I threw away everything except the sodium hydroxide.

However, as I didn't know what kind of garbage the sodium hydroxide was, I called a garbage office to ask which garbage collecting day I should take out.
To my surprise, he said that the best way is to make soap!
"What? I beg your pardon. What does it mean?" I asked.

The sodium hydroxide is one of the hazardous substances, so, you can't throw away easily. If you want to throw it away, it will cost you very expensive. If you do that, you should ask the special office in Sapporo because our city garbage office doesn't deal with it.

I was at a loss to hear this. I had already thrown away the tools. To use up all of the sodium hydroxide I have, I will have to make a lot of soap. Besides, I will have to buy the tools again. Anyway, I don't want to make soap again.
What should I do it? What a headache!

Hello, Shiroi Tora.

Thank you so much for the corrections.
It is difficult for me to make sentences using 'of which'. I read a text book about it again though.
