Ikebana 1/17/2018

IMG_2040_convert_20180119210357.jpg

I had composed this arrangement of Narcissus (スイセン), Ornamental Cabbage (ハボタン), and Camellia (ツバキ).

When I called my mother as usual a few weeks ago, she was about to cry. She said that my father was different from usual, in other words, he didn't say a word that day. He never takes a walk hand in hand with my mother. However, he took a walk clinging to my mother that day. I was very worried to hear this.

After eight in the evening on that day, my mother called me in a panic, "Father is dead in the bathtub! What should I do? Please come here soon!" "Just take him out of the water soon!" said I. "I can't do that. He is too heavy!" said my mother.
After the phone, my husband told me to tell my mother to drain the hot water in the bathtub. I called her to tell this soon.
The nearest relatives came to her house soon and took my father out of the bathtub. Fortunately, he was alive and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

I flew to see my father at the hospital. He looked bad and I thought that he would never come back home again.
On the first day, my brother slept in my father's bed at parents' home. On the second day, I did the same. The bed smelled my father, and I couldn't sleep well.
We cried. Especially, my brother often cried.

My father's hands were tied to the hospital bed because he tried to get rid of some medical tubes so often. He didn't understand what happened to him. It was hardship for him. He couldn't even scratch his face when he felt itchy. We were very sorry for him.
My brother asked the doctor to discharge my father from the hospital as soon as possible. The doctor allowed to do this after some check-ups.
My brother cried again, but he did with happiness now.

My father stayed only two nights at the hospital, and he fortunately came back home. At first, he couldn't even drink water by himself, but now, he can do it. If he had been hospitalized longer, he couldn't do anything by himself.

My father was saved again (before).

New Year's Ikebana 12/20/2017

IMG_1992_convert_20171227094748.jpg

I had composed this arrangement of Pinus Parviflora (五葉松), Sarcandra Glabra (千両), Chrysanthemum (菊), and Uplight (アップライト) for New Year's Day.

Pinus Parviflora is pretty. I don't know exactly, but Uplight is a kind of asparagus. They were painted with gold.

Christmas was over. I'm not a Christian, but I had been quite busy preparing for it. I bought some presents, made a board game, made more than one hundred cookies and some Panettone.
I don't go to a department store so often, but I like shopping there. I bought a warm pair of socks for myself as well. I had bought a scarf for myself last year. I buy one which I want for a Christmas present for myself.

I then wrote some New Year's cards last Sunday.

Now, the only thing that I have to do is cleaning. There are many things to clean in my house.

My car came back from repairing yesterday. The old neighbor who had hit my car gave up driving at last. He is two years younger than my father. Because he reminds me of my father, I sympathize with him. I think that it's a good time to quit driving for him as my fahter.

Ikebana 12/6/2017

I'm glad that I could update my blog after a while.
I have many things to do this month same as many people. I stayed up 3 am last night, and 2 am before the last night. I have to go to bed earlier tonight.

IMG_1950_convert_20171217225410.jpg

I had composed this arrangement of Bottle Brush (金宝樹、又はブラシノキ), Rose (バラ), and Baby's Breath (カスミソウ).

Several days later, I took a monthly Ikebana test.
A male professor from Nagasaki arranged two works for us there.

I arranged this ↓on the test there. I got 95 points out of 100, thanks to my Ikebana teacher. She always teaches me hard, so, when I get a lower score, I feel sorry to her. This time, I was glad to get a good score for not only myself, but also my teacher.

My brother's family send us some presents for Christmas every year. I also send some to them.
Any gifts make me happy even though I'm grown-up. I went shopping for them yesterday. I enjoyed choosing four presents respectively for his family members.

Christmas Ikebana 11/29/2017

IMG_1938_convert_20171201194022.jpg

I had composed this arrangement of Chamaecyparis Pisifera (ヒムロスギ), Rose (バラ), and Berzelia (バーゼリア).

Time flies. It's already December.
The other day, my car was hit by a neighbor's car. Fortunately, I wasn't in my car, but it was severely damaged. I bought a new car last year, so, I was shocked about the car. It will take about a month to repair it. The neighbor is in his eighties. Actually, this was the second time to be hit by his car. I don't hope to have a third time. It's enough!

My father had a car accident last month as you may know. This caused him to give up driving.
My mother-in-law also had a traffic accident a few months ago when she was riding a bike. She is Okay now.

I pray for no more accident in my family until the end of this year at least.

Ikebana 11/15/2017

IMG_1910_convert_20171122223226.jpg

I had composed this arrangement of Broom (石化エニシダ), Gerbera (ガーベラ), and Leatherleaf Fern (レザーファン).

After I practiced this style, I took a monthly test last Sunday. Actually, the mark was not so good. Some instructions from my teacher had slipped out of my mind.

A professor who came from Shizuoka prefecture arranged these flowers, and then marked our each arrangement.

I took a picture of persimmons last Monday.

Now, it's raining, which is melting the snow. I prefer rain to snow.
