go on a trip to the east of Hokkaido Part.2

We changed the route we had planned before to avoid the rain. Because we were going to camp at the second night.
On the second day of the trip, we went through Bihoro Pass (美幌峠) and went to Lake Kussharo (屈斜路湖).

We then went to Lake Mashu (摩周湖). It is also called "foggy Lake Mashu " because it is almost always foggy around and rarely can be seen the lake. As we expected, it was foggy and we couldn't see it at all.

Instead of that, we could see chipmunks.

We then went to Shiretoko Peninsula (知床半島).

At last, we could see Kunashiri Island (国後島) over the sea.

↑On the same site where the sign was standing, we could see Shiretoko Peninsula as well.

We arrived at the Rausu roadside station. It was prohibited for general vehicles to go ahead to the point of the peninsula. After we had lunch there, we went across the peninsula.

While we went across the peninsula, there was a natural hot spring called 'Kumano-yu', which meant 'bear's bath'.

There was only women's section. Men took it outdoor beyond the women's section.

↑It was the direction to the point of Shiretoko Peninsula.

When we got to the other side of the peninsula, I went to a rest room.
There were two posters in a private room.

↑One said ' A Fed Bear is a Dead Bear. DO NOT feed bears. Stay away from bears. '
The other said ' The Tragic End of Sausage '.

We left the peninsula.

We then went to a camp site along Lake Abashiri (網走湖).
It was already dark. My husband and son built two tents. One was for sleeping, and the other was for dining.
The camping style has changed. In my twenties, there was no tent for dining. Younger people want to keep privacy more than before.

The sky was full of stars.
