a slice of tomato

Japanese Yew (イチイまたはオンコ)

I often see Japanese Yew at home gardens as well as at parks in Hokkaido. These days, they have been bearing fruit. The size is almost the same as green peas. I didn't know about the tree when I lived in the mainland. When my son and I were playing at the park a long time ago after moving, I saw that other kids were eating the fruit. So, we tried to eat them. They tasted sweet.
However, several years later, I knew that its seed is poisonous. There is a big seed inside the fruit. I was relieved that we hadn't eaten them.

The other day, my son and I went to buy some hamburgers by car. When I was trying to order a slice of tomato as a topping item on drive-through, my son told me after seeing the price that I should cut a tomato in fridge by myself. A sice of tomato was 40 yen (about a half US dollar). I followed his advice. I came home and I cut the tomato thicker than the shop's. It was much more delicious than the one without a slice of tomato.
I felt that my son has grown up. A few years ago, he used to spend whole his allowance as soon as he got. Now, he knows saving.

By the way, I took a TOEIC test last Sunday. The listening part was terrible for me. The way of speaking was so fast that I couldn't understand some questions. I was disappointed with them, so, I answered the reading part desperately after that.
However, I thought that the reading part would be better than before.
Now, I don't want to study English for a while.

It is difficult to learn English new words.
