Ikebana 6/6/2012

I arranged Thunberg spirea (Yukiyanagi), Hosta (Giboushi) and Clematis(Tessen).
It is said that it's easy for Clematis to draw up water, but when I arranged them at home, the two flowers withered though some buds are still fine.

I usually have bread which I bake by breadmaker that I use 2 or 3 times in a week for breakfast. Recently the breadmaker got broken. It was the second time since I bought it about 3 years ago. I sent it for repair and I got the quote a few days later that was more than 10,000 yen. I had been wondering whether I buy a new one, but eventually I made up my mind to have repaired. I like my breadmaker very much because it can bake the amount of two loaves of bread at a time.
In the meantime, I got nice bread from the Ikebana teacher luckily! And this bread provoked me to bake handmade bread from scratch after a long time. Before I bought a breadmaker, I used to bake bread by hand spending a lot of time. I was very surprised that how easy the breadmaker was when I bought it, and since then I haven't baked it by hand.
I baked three kinds of bread which are custard-cream buns, cheese buns and butter-enriched rolls as you can see though they might look the same.
I realized again that complete handmade bread was very tasty and the texture was wonderful.

I made plum syrup (left) and plum sour (right). I make them every year. It takes about 3 weeks to be able to drink, so I shake them everyday until then.

Is the thing in the jar on the right "umeshu"?

Dear just visiting,

Thanks for visiting my blog!
The right thing isn't "umeshu". I didn't use any alcohol.
It's made of 400g ume, 400g crystal sugar and 400g vinegar.
It's very easy and good for your health, isn't it?
