an apron

I managed to make an apron. It took about no less than ten hours in total.
It was difficult for me. I'm a beginner for sewing, so I learned even how to sew buttons as well as making patterns from scratch. And it was the first for me to make a button hole using sewing machine.
When I was a student I learned how to make a few clothes in school, but I forgot completely.
I want to make another one to review, but I'm not sure I can make it again.

The feature of this apron is that there are no strings to tie, and there are two buttons on the front, but there are no other buttons on the back or side. So you just pull the apron over your head. It's easy to put on.

Although I'm a beginner for sewing, I have a torso. I got it from my aunt when I was learning how to put on Kimono. I used to practice it using this torso. Before I got it from my aunt, I used my husband as a practice partner a few times. But he didn't like that, of course.
After I finished learning how to put on Kimono, I was on the fence whether I should throw it away whenever we moved.
Now I was glad to keep it. I had never thought that I would use it for sewing.

The future is a closed book, isn't it?

Hi, Sakae.

Your work is really nice.
To tell the truth, I am all thumbs when it comes to sewing.
When I was a junior high school student, I pretended to
sew in home-making classes and brought it back home and
asked my mother to sew it for me.
I've never made any sewing.
So I really respect who can sew or make their own clothes.
I like embroidery or patchwork but I have no talent for sewing.

Sakae, my dream is to put on kimono and go to see KABUKI.
So you can put on kimono by yourself..Amazing!!
How nice. I yearn for you.

Hi, ダイエット妄想ママ.

Thank you for your comment.
Me, too! My aunt made pajamas for me and I took them to school as homework when I was a junior high school student. After that my teacher said in classroom she knew whether students made them by themselves or not. I thought then she said to me.
I didn't like sewing before, but I'm interested in it these days.

Oh Sakae, you are very talented. I have never made anything like that!
