One of sweets I got from the UK was shortbread.
I was surprised that it was really nice.
I didn't know exactly what the shortbread was before. I imagined it was like between cookies and bread. I mean I imagined it was softer than cookies, but it was harder than bread, and it was less sweet than cookies, but it was more sweet than bread.

However it was like cookies, but it was thicker than cookies. It was much better than that I imagined. I love it.

I checked "shortbread" on the Internet.
It's originally from Scotland. And it goes with black tea.
"short" means light and crispy or flaky.
The ingredients are just flour, butter, sugar and a little salt. Depends on recipes, but it usually consists in the ratio of flour 3 : butter 2 : sugar 1.
It is like cookies with regard to the ingredients.
However the order of ingredients is totally different when you make it.
cookie: butter→sugar→flour
shortbread: flour→butter→sugar

I think I want to make it before long.

I've never heard of short bread before.
There are many many things in the world that
many people don't know, so we would like to travel or read books.
It surely looks delicious. Seeing is believing.
Please make them!

Yesterday I got Swiss Chocolate. It is good but sweeter than
Japanese one.

Aanyway we enjoyed foreign sweets yesterday.

Hi, ダイエット妄想ママ.

Thank you for your comment.
I'm wondering if I can find shortbread in the supermarket around here. I'll look for it next time.

Swiss Chocolate sounds delicious. I want to try one.
Yes, traveling or reading provides us many things. I want to travel all over the world.

I hope that you can make it. There are many varieties of short bread and many different sizes and shapes. Some are sweeter than others.

There are special baking trays here for making short bread. However, I've never tried homemade short bread.

I am sorry for my long absence. My internet didn't work from Friday morning until now (Monday night).
