New Year's Ikebana 12/25/2013

The snow has melted completely, so it is easy to drive or walk.
And it was not 'White Christmas' here yesterday.

My son has a winter vacation from Dec.26 to Jan.19. I had to take care of him in this morning and then I went to the post office and some shopping for cleaning and so on.
I was going to clean my place after shopping, but it took a lot of time and I got tired. So I will clean it tomorrow. Oh, it's behind schedule.

I arranged Nandina (南天), Pine (若松), and Ornamental cabbage (葉牡丹) for coming New Year.
Since the nandina was gorgeous, I decided it as the subject as my teacher suggested though usually we use a pine for the subject. As I mentioned before, the nandina reminds me of my parents' garden and it is good fortune.

May the New Year bring you a lot of happiness and smiles.

I love this ikebana today. It's very bold. It's like a bold calligraphy stroke.

May the New Year bring you lots of happiness and smiles too!
