Ikebana 3/12/2014

I arranged Dyed Pussy Willow (染めネコヤナギ), Anemone (アネモネ) and Asparagi radix (天門冬「テンモンドウ」).

The room I was arranging was warm, so the anemones were blooming quickly. While I was taking some pictures of them and was altering the arrangement many times, the anemone's petals became down in the end.
And it was the first time for me to use dyed pussy willows. They are similar to peach blossoms. It was interesting.

My English teacher who is a foreigner asked me the other day that why Ikebana doesn't use flowers in full bloom such as cherry blossoms. I answered that Ikebana doesn't show the moment and you enjoy the process or passing by or even the life of the flowers.
