TV drama / Downton Abbey

IMG_5441_convert_20140513090448.jpg
Double-flowered cherry trees are blooming now.

When I went jogging this morning, I saw a girl who was in a school uniform and was carrying a suitcase. I've heard that the third grade of junior high school students are going to go to Iwate by train for the three day long school trip. And they will visit Chusonji temple and so on.
When I was younger, I also visited there with my friend and her father once. It was a good memory.

By the way, the new drama series, Downton Abbey just started on NHK TV. It is a British drama and depicts the lives of the aristocratic family and their servants. I usually watch only a morning drama series which takes only fifteen minutes long, but I decided to watch the Downton Abby as well. I recorded the first one and I watched it yesterday. I'm not good at remembering more than three characters and their names especially in English, but I enjoyed the drama very much. To improve my English, I listen to it in English with Japanese subtitles.
I can't wait the next story.

I have season 1 and season 2 on DVD, but I still haven't watched them all. It's really an interesting series.

While jogging this morning, I had seen a girl dressed in her school uniform while carrying a suitcase. I had heard that the 9th graders were taking a train to Iwate for a three day long school excursion. I had also heard that they will be visiting Chusonji Temple, as well as some of the other temples in the city.

When I was younger, I once visited Chusonji Temple with a friend and her father. It is a good memory for me.

Hi, Always visiting.

Thank you for your comment.
I don't know how many seasons they have, but I'm sure you can watch the latest story of it on TV. I hope this TV program will be on aired whole seasons.

Re: English Corrections

Hi, shiroi tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections.

I have two questions.
Q1:What is the difference between 'school trip' and 'school excursion'?
Q2:Do you say 'they will be visiting Chusonji Temple' instead of 'they will visit Chusonji Temple' because the excursion already started?
Please tell me.

Answers:

1) Although they are synonyms, excursion is more precise. It implies a leisure activity in conjunction with the actual trip. One could go on a business trip, but rarely is it said that one would go on a business excursion, unless there is anticipated adventurous or leisurely activity along with the business.

2) You could use either, however, you should match tenses in the same paragraph (will go + will visit = ok vs. going to go + will visit = not ok / taking a train + will be visiting = ok vs. taking a train + will visit = not ok). A form of a progressive tense (or other tense) in one sentence should match all other sentences in the same paragraph. The same applies to a whole paper or story, unless there is need to change the tenses because of an action or time change.
