a home barber

First of all, thank you for your claps about my last photo which was taken of the spiderweb. To be honest, one of the claps was mine. I don't usually click my clap sign though. Anyway, it was fewer than that I had expected.

I've cut my son's hair since I moved to Hakodate. Before moving here, my friend used to cut my son's hair. So he has never been to a barber.

This white chair was a gift for my wedding from my relative, who was a boy at that time. His name is the same as my son's by chance, and he had made it for me with his father more than twenty years ago. Before I have my son, I used to use it for placing some flowers or a phone. Then after that, my son used to sit or stand on it in front of the washstand.
Now he always sit on it when I cut his hair.

And this hair clippers was used by my father when he had cut my brother's, as I mentioned before. It is more than forty years old. I usually use both of the clippers and the scissors when I cut my son's hair.

My son likes short hair, so he often askes me to cut his hair. Sometimes it's a hassle for me especially when I'm busy.
The other day, he asked me to do it again. As I was busy then, I said to him to go to a barber. Then he said "It has to be Mom! Because I can order as I like. Please!"
I was pleased to hear that a little. Then I cut his hair eventually.
Of course, I'm an amateur in cutting hair, so it's not good. I'll paint his head skin using a black marker in case I cut too much. I've never done it though.
And whenever I finish cutting my son's hair, my husband wants me to do it also. But I always turn it down. It will be shameful for an adult to have an awkward hair. I'll do it when he is retired, maybe.

Cutting my son's hair brings back lots of my good memories. And it will also bring them to my son in the future, I hope.

My mother in law often cuts everyone's hair in her family. Sometimes my Brother in law goes to a barber, but that's very rare. She even cuts my sister in law's children's hair. I think that's very good!

Re: No title

Hi, Always visiting.

Why don't you ask your mother in law also? She will be pleased, I bet.
Thanks for your comment.

This white chair was a wedding gift from a relative who was but a boy at the time. His name, and my son's name, by mere coincidence, are the same. Both he, and his father, had made it for me more than twenty years ago. Before my son was born, I used to use it as a phone or flower stand. Some years after my son was born, I had it in front of the wash stand (washing machine? I am unsure what a wash stand is), and he would often sit or stand on it. Now, he always sits on it when I cut his hair.

The pictured hair clipper was the same one my father had used to cut my brother's hair when we were young. It is more than forty years old. I usually use both, the hair clipper, and the scissors, when I cut my son's hair.

As I was somewhat pleased to hear that, I eventually gave in and cut his hair for him. Of course, I am an amateur when it comes to cutting hair, so I can't do an especially good job. I may have to use a black marker on his scalp if I ever cut too much. Luckily, I've never had to use one.

Whenever I finish cutting my son's hair, my husband wants me to cut his too. However, I always turn him down. It would be shameful for an adult to have an unsymmetrical or an otherwise, awkward haircut. Perhaps I will cut his hair for him when he retires.

Cutting my son's hair brings back lots of good memories for me. I hope that my son will one day look back upon the days when I had cut his hair, with the same fondness I have now.

Re: English Corrections

Hi, shiroi tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections.
The washstand I meant was the thing to use wash your face or brush your teeth. Was it a sink or a basin? My son was too little to use it then, so he stood on the chair and washed his face in front of 'it'.
