go back to my parents' home

I had stayed with my parents for about a week.
The goverment is planning to build a large drainage canal, so my parents have to move out. There were a lot of my belongings at my parents' house, and I had to put them away.
Throwing away things of memory such as letters and photos made me sad so much. After all I kept a few things of them.
And I made my farewells to some neighbors. Some of them also have to move out.

↑'Noppo Pan' bread
I heard from the radio in Hokkaido before that 'Noppo Pan' has come back. I was very happy to hear that and I bought one in my hometown after a long time. It's long and it sandwiches cream. There are some kinds of cream each. It's very popular.

One day, we went to the sea to swim.
I swam in the sea for the first time in more than two decades. I often used to swim in the sea nearby when I was a child. I enjoyed it so much with remembering those days. As if I were in the heaven. Also, I wanted to dive into the sea, but I gave it up because I didn't want to wet my hair.
However, after swimming, I noticed that I had made a bad mistake there.
I put sunscreen only on my arms. So, after that, I had sore shoulders even touching clothing. I had even blisters.

I went to see fireworks and met my old friends and some relatives during the trip. I had a good time.
When we left for Hakodate, fortunately, my brother's family dropped us at the airport on the way to their home. Since I had sore shoulders still then, I really thanked to my brother.

I had been looking forward to being in cooler place, Hokkaido, but I was surprised that my apartment room was hotter than my parents house. Moreover, we don't have an air-conditioning here. Oh, no!

Ohhhhhh ouch. I hope you have some aloe at home.

Re: No title

Hi, Always visiting.

Yes, I put aloe on my shoulders at my parents home. My parents love aloe. They eat it everyday. And my mother put it on her skin such as her face and even her head.
I have its pot at my place, too. However, it's not so good now. Because it's not juicy. I think I should transplant it to a bigger pot. So after all, I put aloe cream instead of that.
Now, they itch. My skin is peeling.

Thank you for your comment.

For the duration of my week long visit to my hometown, I stayed with my parents in their home.

Losing many of the items I have fond memories of made me very sad. However, I was able to keep a few of the items, and I am grateful for this.

Some of my old neighbors also have to move out, so I said my farewells to them.

Mt. Fuji from a window at my parents' house

I opened up (my or our) old record player. It had been a long time since I had used it and I wished to play it once again, however, it had long been inoperable.

Sleeping under a mosquito net was comfortable. However, I don't think many Japanese people use them nowadays.

I had heard from the radio in Hokkaido that 'Noppo Pan' has come back. I was very happy to hear this and I bought a loaf in my hometown after not being able to eat any in a long time. They are long and sandwich varying flavors of cream. They are very popular.

While *we were there, we spent a day swimming in the sea.
It had been more than two decades since I had last swum there. I often used to swim in the nearby sea when I was a child. During our day at the beach, my reminiscence of my childhood days spent swimming there made me feel as if I were in heaven. Although I had wanted to dive into the sea, I gave up on the notion because I didn't want to wet my hair.
However, after swimming, I noticed that I had made the mistake of only putting sunscreen on my arms.
Shortly after my swim, my shoulders were so sore, even the light touch of my clothing was painful. I even had blisters on them.

During my trip, we went to see fireworks, and I had also met my old friends and some of my relatives. I had a good time.

Fortunately, when *we left for Hakodate, my brother and his family dropped us off at the airport on their way back home. Since my shoulders were still sore, I really thanked my brother for his thoughtfulness.

I had been looking forward to being back in the cooler climate of Hokkaido, but I was surprised to find that my apartment was hotter than my parents' house. Moreover, I couldn't cool it down because we don't have air conditioning. Oh, no!

* I am unsure if only you had made the trip...if you had gone with your family, or if you had gone with the relatives you had met there.

Re: English Corrections

Hi, shiroi tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections.

I went on a trip with my son. And my brother's family came to my parents' home later by car and stayed together.
I put sunscreen on his shoulders and so on, so it was no problem for my son. I will swim with wearing T-shirt next time.
Swimming in the sea was really nice.
