Ikebana 9/3/2014 and Grape Tart

I had composed this arrangement from Eucalyptus Pulverulenta (ユーカリ銀世界), Carnation (カーネーション), and Sea Lavender ( or Limonium Hybrid ハイブリッドスターチス).

The sea lavender has beautiful tiny yellow flowers, but unfortunately I couldn't show its beauty well on the photo from a distance.

After all, I made some Grape Tart using grapes my aunt had sent the other day.
Usually peeled grapes are green color. I wanted them to be beautiful purple, so I had soaked the peeled grapes in syrup which was made from some sugar, water, lemon juice, and grape skins.
Then I baked some empty tarts which were made by the same way of a kind of cookie dough. And then I cooked custard.
Finally, I filled with custard and grapes in a turt, and cooled them in the refrigerator.

When I was in twenties, I had Grape Tart at a cafe. It was excellent. I wanted to duplicate it.
Mine didn't turn out the same as that one, but they were good, too. I made some small grape tarts as well.

I decided to make some Grape Tarts using the grapes my aunt had sent the other day.

Peeled grapes are usually green in color. However, I wanted them to be a beautiful purple, so I soaked the peeled grapes in a purple colored syrup which *I had made from some sugar, water, lemon juice, and grape skins.

*I am assuming you had made the syrup.

I then baked the empty cookie dough tart shells and cooked the custard filling.

Finally, I filled the tart shells with the custard and topped them with the grapes. For the final step, I cooled them in the refrigerator.

When I was in my twenties, I had a grape tart at a cafe. It was excellent. I wanted to duplicate that same delicious taste and wonderful presentation.

Although my grape tarts didn't turn out the same as the cafe's, they were still very good. I made some delicious smaller grape tarts as well.

I've never had or heard of grape tart, but it looks great.

Whenever I try to recreate a recipe from a restaurant, it never turns out exactly like the one I had before. I think this is is because the restaurant's facilities are different. For example, they have different ovens and appliances.

Yes, it's difficult to recreate. I know some of my parents' restaurant's recipe, even so, I can't make the same food.

I could have said:

Peeled grapes are usually green in color. However, I wanted them to be purple, so I soaked the peeled grapes in purple colored syrup (which *I had made from some sugar, water, lemon juice, and grape skins).

You could get away with saying it in this manner...however, it is not so precise.

You would NOT say it as such:

'I wanted them to be a purple' - You would need to modify the word 'purple' by adding the words 'color' or 'beautiful'..etc.
