the result of the last TOEIC test held on 9/28/2014

At last, I managed to achieve my present goal, to get over 800 points !
I got 820 (Listening 425, Reading 395) points on the last TOEIC test held on September 28th.

First of all, I'd like to express my profound gratitude to 'shiroi tora' who has always corrected my blogs on my comment sites.
I've learned many things from him.
Thank you very much, shiroi tora.

I got the result the last Monday, and I've been thinking whether I should announce it on my blog or not.
To be honest, I was so happy that I wanted to do it. On the other hand, I think that if I announced it once, I will have to announce the next result even though it gets worse. Many bloggers who have studied for TOEIC test announce their scores. And I'd like to go for it with them. And also, one of my friends recommended me to announce my score because some readers wonder what my score was.

As soon as I got the result, I emailed my close friend to inform it. We knew each other at an English conversational school more than ten years ago. She is also my rival and we've brushed up our English each other since then. Sometimes she had run ahead of me, and sometimes she had followed me.
And we had aimed to get over 800 points on TOEIC test together for ages, and she had achieved it last year. So I have wanted to catch up with her as soon as possible.
As soon as she got my email, she called me saying "congratulations!". We talked a lot of things. The thing surprised me the most was that she has already started to study for Eiken test. She wants me to aim it together. Her dream, to be a translator, came true a few years ago. And she said she needed to study for the Eiken test as a translator.
I also want to pass the Eiken test in the future. And I'm planning that when my son enters a junior high school, I will start to study for the Eiken test, and then when he passes the exam of a high school, I also want to pass the Eiken test together. And I want to share the joy with my son.
However, it will be difficult for me to pass the test studying only three years. And I don't want to lag far behind my rival. I want to go for it with her.

So, I will start to study for the Eiken test as well as the TOEIC test from now on. My rival seems to give up taking the TOEIC test, but I want to improve my TOEIC score more and I want to keep on it for a while. Therefore, I'll take it next year again while I won't take the Eiken test then yet.

As soon as I got the result, I emailed my close friend to tell her the good news. We knew each other at an English conversational school more than ten years ago. She is also my rival, and we've brushed up on our English since then. Sometimes she had run ahead of me, and sometimes she had followed me.

Both of us had aimed to get over 800 points on TOEIC test for ages, and she achieved her goal last year. So, I wanted to catch up to her as soon as possible.

I also want to pass the Eiken test in the future. When my son enters junior high school, I plan to start studying for the Eiken test. When he passes the entrance exam for high school, I also want to pass the Eiken test at the same time. In this manner, my son and I will be able to enjoy the feeling of having successfully conquered a difficult objective, simultaneously.

However, it will be difficult for me to pass the test after having studied for only three years. And I don't want to lag far behind my rival. I want to go for it with her.

So, from now on, I will study for the Eiken test, as well as for the TOEIC test. My rival seems to have given up taking the TOEIC test. However, I want to improve my TOEIC score more, so, I will keep on it for a while. Therefore, I'll take the TOEIC exam again next year, and I will continue studying for the Eiken exam until my son is ready to take his high school exam, at which time, I hope to achieve my success at the same time my son achieves his success.

Re: English Corrections

Hi, Shiroi Tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections.

When I made the 'recommend' sentence, I had checked on my printed dictionary. A long time ago, I had written down how to use the sentence that was learned from my ex-English teacher on my dictionary. And I found that they were a difference between that printed on dictionary and that written by me. So I had been confused. Now it was clear.

I've just learned a lot of things as usual, thanks to you.

Comment

I just realized I had left out the word 'the' before TOEIC in the sentence:

Both of us aimed to get over 800 points on...

Sorry...my oversight.
