Chiristmas Cookies in 2014

IMG_6771_convert_20141220224706.jpg

I made Christmas cookies as usual. I've often heard that butter is scarce in Japan. Fortunately, we can buy some at the grocery store nearby so far. When I bake sweets, I always use some butter. And when I have bread, I often use some butter on it for breakfast. I love butter and it is essential for me, so I'm concerned about its shortage.

Then I made some dried fruits soaked with rum. And I'm going to make Christmas bread, Panettone tomorrow.

Merry Christmas

Your cookies are lovely.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Re: Merry Christmas

Hi, Romi.

Thank you very much.
To be honest, I hesitated to post these cookies because I posted ones last year as well. Whenever Christmas is coming, I make these kinds of cookies and Panettone.
I like the arrangement by your mother. It was beautiful and sweet.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I heard that there was a butter shortage in Japan too. I heard you could only buy one block per store, so many people visited more than one store, haha. I love butter too, I prefer it over margarine.

I love that first picture, it's so clear.

Re: No title

Hi, Always visiting.

I've just had bread with butter and strawberry jam for breakfast. I don't think that it is so serious in Hokkaido.
The mountain over there in that picture was Mt. Hakodate.

So, I'm concerned about its shortage.

After I had made the cookies, I made some dried fruits soaked with rum. Tomorrow, I'm going to make *the Christmas bread, 'Panettone'.

*I am assuming there is more than one type of Christmas bread because you had named it.

Hi, Shiroi Tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections.
'so much so' was unfamiliar to me. I learned it.
