my dream

IMG_7439_convert_20150303091106.jpg
This is one of my favorite sweets. It's a kind of rice cake. My husband got it from someone at his office and I shared it with my son. It is not soy sauce, but brown sugar syrup. When I had lived in my hometown, I used to have it sometimes.

By the way, the other day, I visited my friend's house.
She and her husband have a good job respectively, and their house was really nice. I envy her.

I have a dream to have a new house. If it's possible, I want to live in a non-snowy region. I want to exercise walking every morning even in winter. And I want to have my own garden. I want to plant a prum tree, a lemon tree, and a summer orange tree as well as some flowers, harbs, and vegetables. I want to make pickled plums, fruit jam and so on from my garden.
The entrance must be between rooms. Either one is a guest room. And I put a flower arrangement at the entrance. The kitchen has large windows and always is light. And my own room must face south and a little spacious on the second floor. I put a Kotatsu heater table in my room and put some pictures on the wall. The toilet rooms must be each floor.

This is my dream. When will it come true?

This is one of my favorite sweets. It's a kind of rice cake. My husband got it from someone at his office, and I shared it with my son. The container is not filled with soy sauce, but brown sugar syrup. When I had lived in my hometown, I, sometimes, used to have some.

By the way, the other day, I visited my friend's house.
Both, she and her husband each have a good job, and their house is really nice. I envy her.

I have a dream to, one day, live in a new house. If possible, I would like to live in a non-snowy region. I want to be able to walk every morning, even in winter. I would like to have my own garden, and to be able to plant a plum tree, a lemon tree, and a summer orange tree, as well as some flowers, herbs, and vegetables. I would like to make pickled plums, fruit jam, and so on, from what I could grow in my garden.

The front entryway must be between rooms. I would also like to have an extra room as a guest room. I would put a beautiful flower arrangement in the entryway so it would greet all who visited my home. The kitchen would have large windows and would always be filled with light. As for my room, it would have to face south and it would have to be spacious. I would like it to be on the second floor. I would put a Kotatsu heater table in my room and I would decorate the walls with some of my favorite pictures. Another must have would be a bathroom for each floor.

This is my dream. When will it come true?

Re: English Corrections

Hi, Shiroi Tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections.

I thought that 'bathroom' meant a set of a toilet and a bathtub. I think that one bathtub is enough. So,I dared to use the word 'toilet room'. Do you say 'bathroom' as only toilet?
Please tell me.

In Japan, the "toilet room"(room that only contains a toilet) and the "bathroom" (room that only contains a bath and/or a shower) are two different things. This is unlike houses in Western countries where there is a bathroom and a toilet inside the same room.

I notice that in Japan, the term "WC" (Water Closet) is used to mean a "toilet room." Maybe you can say "and a WC on each floor" or "a toilet on each floor."

The term "WC" is used in British English by the way.

Oh and I'm looking forward to your plum tree too. I can't wait for this year's umeboshi posts.

Answer to Sakae's question

My Reply:

You are correct. I had forgotten about the Japanese bathroom and toilet set up. In America, we call just the toilet and sink a half bath. We also have rooms for just toilets also...although, they are usually reserved for the Master Bedrooms. These toilet only rooms are also referred to as a 'water closet'. However, just by calling the toilet only rooms as a 'toilet', is perfectly understandable.

Re: No title

Hi, Always visiting.

Thank you very much for the explanation.
I've seen the "WC" since I was a child, but I didn't know it was "Water Closet".
