White Day 2015

IMG_7550_convert_20150317101044.jpg

Much of snow has been melting here.

March 14th was the White Day in Japan. On that day, I bet many women or girls got some sweets from their boyfriends or their loved ones as well as their just friends.
My family, my husband and my son gave me some Marusei Butter Sand cookies!
They really know about my favorite sweets. I was so happy to get them.
I call it The King of Sweet. I think it is the best sweets in the world.
This confectionery company, Rokkatei produces many kinds of delicious sweets as well as Marusei Butter Sand cookies. I love their sweets. Whenever I go back to my hometown, I buy them for gifts. Those who get them are really pleased.
And I have accumulated Rokkatei's points to redeem equivalent goods. It's also my pleasure. Someday, I'll show you the goods I got.

I think that Shiroi Tora is going to say this, but I'll add a comment anyway.

In Japan, the Japanese katakana word for sandwich is サンド or "sando." Sometimes this gets translated in English by Japanese people as "sand."

Example: I went to Tonkatsu Wako and got a Tonkatsu sand.

"Sand" has another meaning in English. I think it would be better in this situation if you use "sandwich."

Oh and the butter cookies look delicious.

Re: No title

Hi, Always visiting.

Thank you very much for your comment.
So, should I write not 'sand', but 'sandwich' or 'sando'?
'マルセイバターサンド' is a name of the cookie, so, I thought 'Marusei Butter Sando' is better than 'Marusei Butter Sandwich'
What do you think?

I received some Marusei Butter *Sandwich cookies from my husband and son, as well as from my extended family!

* Unless Sand is part of the proper name of the treats, as they were sandwich cookies in construction, sandwich would be correct. There are cookies which have the granular consistency and appearance of wet sand which had been compressed, and they are named to give that impression as part of its theme. However, I don't believe this is the case with these cookies.

They really know about my favorite sweets. I was so happy to get them.
I call them 'The King of Sweets'. I think they are the best sweets in the world.
The confectionery company 'Rokkatei' produces many kinds of delicious sweets in addition to their Marusei Butter Sandwich cookies. I love their sweets. Whenever I go back to my hometown, I buy them for gifts. All who receive them are very pleased.

I have accumulated many Rokkatei points to redeem for goods offered by their company. Every time I buy sweets from this company, I get double the pleasure. I get to enjoy their products, and I get to look forward to accumulating enough points for something I would like. Someday, I'll show you the goods I had gotten.

Re: English Corrections

Hi, Shiroi Tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections.

Oh, it was 'Marusei Butter Sandwich cookies' as Always visiting had mentioned!

No title

I agree with Shiroi Tora, sandwich cookies is the best term to use here.

Re: No title

Hi, Always visiting.

Thank you very much for the correction. You and Shiroi Tora said the same thing. Yes, 'sand' for food sounds strange for sure.
