We then left for Ozora Cho ( 大空町) to see Sun flower Field.
Unfortunately, we couldn't see them because it was just after they were cut down.
However, I could see a small flower garden. It was beautiful.

In 1890, as many as 1,200 prisoners were brought from all over the country to provide the labor to develop Hokkaido.
That was the start of Abashiri Prison.

It was very spacious. There were many old buildings and farms in the site.
It took nearly two hours to see them.
Some prisoners had made even miso and soy sauce by themselves. There were so large containers for making them.
And many prisoners were forced to work the construction of highways in Hokkaido. Many of them died as a result of hard work.

My feeling got worse while seeing them. However, we should know their hard work and thank them even though they were prisoners.

We left Sea of Okhotsk ( オホーツク海 ).
We then went to Kushiro.
We were supposed to walk around Kushiro Wetland (釧路湿原). However, it was around at 18:00 when we got there. There was a sign said ' Beware of bears '. We walked about five minutes, but we couldn't see the wetland. So we gave up seeing it. Because I was so scared to meet a bear.

The last night of the trip, we stayed at my mother-in-law's.
On the next day, we visited a temple for my father-in-law.
