Ikebana 10/7/2015

I had composed this arrangement of Wild Rose (野いばら, red fruits ), Japanese Gentian (リンドウ), Toad Lily (ホトトギス), and Raspberry (木苺, bigger green leaves ).

This style is based on the landscape. The left is expressed a land while the right is expressed a waterside. A breeze blows from left to right. It expresses a scenic beauty.

Toad Lily is called Hototogisu (cuckoo) in Japanese. Because this flower is similar to the pattern of cuckoo's underbelly.

I had composed this arrangement of Wild Rose (野いばら, red fruits ), Japanese Gentian (リンドウ), Toad Lily (ホトトギス), and Raspberry (木苺, bigger green leaves ).

This style is based on an imaginary landscape. The left expresses land while the right expresses water. The plants are arranged as if there were a breeze blowing from left to right. The arrangement, as a whole, expresses scenic beauty.

Toad Lily is called Hototogisu (cuckoo) in Japanese because this flower is similar to the pattern of cuckoo's underbelly.
