Ikebana 11/4/2015

IMG_8915_convert_20151106175918.jpg

I had composed this arrangement of Japanese Quince (ボケ) and Camellia (ツバキ).
This style is called Syohinka (小品花) in our school, which is arranged using the least amount of materials. Instead of that, we have to arrange the best way.

Just Quince is called Marumero (マルメロ) in Japanese. Here, in Hokkaido, quince jam or quince bath is popular.

Recommended Corrections:

I had composed this arrangement of Japanese Quince (ボケ) and Camellia (ツバキ).
This style is called Syohinka (小品花), which is an arrangement using the least amount of materials. However, in our school, we must also make the best use of what we have. The idea is to make the arrangement appear as if any more material would be detrimental to the overall beauty. The concept is to epitomize the idea of, 'Less is more.'

The fruit of the quince tree is called Marumero (マルメロ) in Japanese. Here, in Hokkaido, quince jam and quince baths are popular.
