Happy New Year !

My family stayed with my mother-in-law from 12/30 through 1/3.
Although my mother-in-law had started cooking by herself for the New Year's feast (Osechi) around the Christmas, she and I had been very busy cooking feasts for a few days since I got there.
On the New Year's Eve, we had sushi, sukiyaki, and so on, over watching TV (Kohaku, or an annual singing contest).
And on the New Year's Day, we had zoni, osechi, sashimi, crab, and so on.

On January 2, we visited Hokkaido Shrine to pray for the New Year.
It was warm and not snowy, but rainy!

I was very glad to see the paper fortune I drew was excellent luck. After I read it, I tied it to one of the hanging strings.

My son used to want to buy one, but he passed by without saying this time.

After that, we went shopping.
The rain changed to snow in the evening. We went to a restaurant for dinner.

One day, to my surprise, my mother-in-law showed me a stamp album.
There were many world stamps in it. I asked her how to get them, but she said that she didn't know. She found it in an old shelf.
I said to her that since I like stamps, I would take over it in the future. She accepted my offer.

I like the stamp album. I think it's nice.

I have never gotten daikichi when drawing a fortune. The first time, I got was "getting better." The second time "bad" the third time "good" but not daikichi. (spelling?)

Re: No title

Hi, Always visiting.

I wanted to show more stamps. Many of them were written by their own languages, so I didn't know where some of them were from. I'll check them on the Internet someday.

I always admire that you know Japanese well.

Re: English Corrections

Hello, Shiroi Tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections as always.
I've learned that I didn't have to write 'the' before 'Christmas', 'New Year's Day', and 'New Year's Eve'.
