Ikebana 2/24/2016 for the Girls' Festival

IMG_9362_convert_20160224215806.jpg

I had composed this arrangement of Peach Blossom (桃), Sweetpea (スィートピー), Myers Asparagus (アスパラガス・メイリー又はメリー)(←green leaves), and Marguerite (マーガレット).

When we arrange flowers for the Girls' (or Doll's) Festival (on March 3), we often use Peach Blossom.
The dolls in this picture were made by a mother of my Ikebana teacher. They are sit on a pair of seashell.

When I was a kid, my mother used to display traditional dolls for me to celebrate the Girls' Festival. There are still in my parents' house.
However, I had wanted to have smaller dolls and I had looked for them.
When I went to a department store last month, at last, I found nice small dolls there. They are small enough to sit on my hand.
I like them very much because they are so cute. I'm happy to get them. I'll display them in my house for a period of the Girls' Festival every year.

Hi, Shiroi Tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections.

Peach Blossom is not only pretty, but also considered good luck.
