The earthquake occurred in Hakodate.

I was driving a car when the big earthquake occurred yesterday afternoon.
When I was stopping at a red traffic light, my new car shaked right and left. I looked around other cars, but apparently only my car shaked. So, I thought my car was broken.
However, I knew it was an earthquake when my cellphone alarmed just after this.
I was afraid to drive under the viaduct on the way because of the earthquake. I saw some mothers walking to pick up their children from school.

When I got home, I was relieved to see nothing fell down in my apartment.
Although the news said that the big earthquake occurred in Hakodate City, according to the this morning paper, the area hit by magnitude 5.3, or Japanese scale 6, was limited area, not through the city.
So, my area had Japanese scale 4 of the earthquake.
Even so, we should pay attention to the aftershocks.

Although the news said that the big earthquake occurred in Hakodate City, according to this morning's paper, this area was hit by a magnitude 5.3, or Japanese scale 6, but it hadn't been felt equally throughout the city.
So, my area had a Japanese scale 4 earthquake.
Even so, we should be watchful for any aftershocks.

Hi, Shiroi Tora.

Thank you very much for the corrections.
