Ikebana 8/3/2016

IMG_0257_convert_20160803162638.jpg

I had composed this arrangement of Gladiolus (グラジオラス), Carnation (カーネーション), and Raspberry (木苺, leaves).

It was difficult for me to arrange them, especially, carnations. My teacher helped me in the end. We used some bamboo skewers to fix them.

According to the weather forecast, it will be sunny through this week. So, I've been drying pickled plums to make Umeboshi. I have to dry them for three days. It will be the last day tomorrow. I hope it will be sunny as well.
My aunt advised me that I should use more amount of red perillas than the recipe to color Umeboshi redder. So, I had followed her advice.

My aunt advised me that I should use a larger amount of red perillas than the recipe calls for, to make the Umeboshi a deeper red. So, I followed her advice.
