To tell the truth, pickled herring is not so popular especially among young people.
Since my family members don't eat it so much, I reduced to make the amount of it this year.
I like homemade one very much, and it is good for health.
It's the best for lunch alone at home if you have only some rice. It's easy, simple, and healthful.

I dried three Daikon radishes outside for two weeks.
I then soaked herrings in rice water for one night.
I cut all ingredients.
I added some salt and malted rice to them.
I finally put a weight on them.
It will be done in three weeks.

3 Daikon radishes
1 carrot
1 cabbage
230g herrings
200g malted rice
140g salt (4~6% of all amount of the ingredients)

Hi Always visiting.

I'm not sure you could eat pickled herring. Maybe, it's a strong taste for some people, especially those who don't like fish.
